Project funding
Enabling inter- and transdisciplinary joint projects at the interface of science and society is a central funding instrument of the Swiss Young Academy. In addition, our members can also make use of financial resources for the implementation of personal projects for individual support.

Choice of projects and guidelines
The core tasks of the Swiss Young Academy include not only representing young researchers and promoting the science- and social-policy discourse, but also implementing inter- and transdisciplinary projects at the interface between science and society. For this purpose, each member has access to funding, which makes possible personal or joint projects in groups of up to 6 people. With these financial contributions, members can implement joint projects in the form of workshops, conferences, events, publications or other formats or receive support with their individual scientific development. The members of the Swiss Young Academy are basically free to choose their topics and working methods and are assisted by the Sounding Board in implementing them.
Joint projects (as a rule, CHF 30,000 per project):
Project topics may be chosen freely within the thematic areas of focus set by the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences;
Projects are to be implemented in groups of 2-6 people;
Project results are communicated in the form of workshops, conferences, events, publications or other formats.
Personal projects (max. CHF 1,000 per person per year):
Personal projects help to support the members’ individual development, and either further their scientific development or concern the Academies’ areas of focus;
Project results are recorded in a short report.
